Lidl Tote Giveaway Privacy Notice
This privacy notice explains how personal data submitted through the Lidl Tote giveaway website is collected, used, retained and otherwise processed in connection with the administration of the giveaway.

For the purposes of this privacy notice, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:
Applicable Data Protection Laws means all applicable laws and regulations relating to the processing of personal data and privacy, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, in each case as amended, replaced or superseded from time to time.
Data Controller means the organisation that determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data. For the purposes of the Lidl Tote giveaway, Lidl is the Data Controller.
Data Processor means an organisation that processes personal data on behalf of a Data Controller. For the purposes of the Lidl Tote giveaway, Synergy Print Management Services Limited acts as Data Processor on behalf of Lidl.
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, including information submitted by entrants through the giveaway entry form.
Processing means any operation performed on personal data, including collecting, recording, storing, using, disclosing, deleting or anonymising personal data.
Hard Copy: Data/Information that has been supplied in a non-electrical format, such as pre-printed letters.
2. Who is responsible for your information?
Lidl is the Data Controller in respect of personal data processed for the purposes of the Lidl Tote giveaway. This means Lidl determines the purposes for which, and the manner in which, personal data is processed in connection with the giveaway.
Synergy Print Management Services Limited acts as a Data Processor on behalf of Lidl. Synergy processes personal data only on Lidl’s documented instructions and only to the extent necessary to administer entries and support operation of the giveaway.
3. What information we collect
The personal data collected may include information submitted by entrants through the giveaway entry form, including name, email address, postal address, telephone number and any other information reasonably required to verify eligibility, administer the giveaway, contact entrants or winners, and arrange fulfilment of any prize.
4. Why we use your information
Personal data will be processed solely for purposes connected with the giveaway, including receiving and validating entries, selecting winners, notifying winners, arranging prize fulfilment, responding to giveaway-related enquiries, maintaining appropriate records of the promotion, and complying with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
5. Our legal basis for using your information
The primary lawful basis for processing personal data in connection with the giveaway is Lidl’s legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR, namely the effective administration, management and fulfilment of the giveaway. Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, the lawful basis is Article 6(1)(c) UK GDPR.
6. Who your information is shared with
Personal data will be processed by Synergy on Lidl’s behalf and may be disclosed to suppliers, fulfilment partners or other service providers only where necessary for the administration of the giveaway or fulfilment of prizes. Personal data will not be sold, disclosed for unrelated purposes, or used for unrelated marketing activity.
7. How long we keep your information
Personal data collected for the giveaway will be retained only for as long as is necessary to administer the giveaway, select and notify winners, complete prize fulfilment, address reasonable post-draw enquiries, and meet any applicable legal or regulatory requirements. Unless a longer retention period is required by law or confirmed by Lidl, personal data collected for the giveaway will be deleted or anonymised within 30 days after completion of the draw and prize fulfilment.
8. Your data protection rights
Individuals have rights under applicable data protection legislation, which may include the right to request access to personal data, rectification of inaccurate personal data, erasure of personal data, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and You have the right to lodge a complaint. If you wish to raise a concern regarding how we handle your data, please use our complaints form. We aim to respond to all complaints within one calendar month. If you remain unhappy with our final response, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) via their website at www.ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Requests relating to personal data should be directed to Lidl using the contact details provided on the Lidl Tote website or in the giveaway terms and conditions. Where Synergy receives a request from an individual in relation to personal data processed for the giveaway, Synergy will refer that request to Lidl for response as Data Controller.
9. How we protect your information
Lidl and Synergy will apply appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage. Access to personal data will be limited to authorised personnel and service providers who require access for the purposes described in this notice.
